Franchi & Kim was founded through the business combination of two companies, Franchi Vernici and Kim Industria Vernici.
Franchi Vernici was founded after the Second Wold War in Viale Italia, in the city centre of Brescia, and moved to Castenedolo, to its actual premises, in 1980 in order to expand the production department.
The production activity, at first orientated to a general production of varnishing products, was specialised in colorants for decorative and industrial tinting systems.

The company Kim Industria Vernici founded in Maclodio, the seat of the second production department, in 1979. At first the production activity was orientated to a general production of varnishing products and then was specialised in products for industrial use targeting selected and highly qualified customers.
